Period poverty campaigners have called for new volunteers to support their work in making period products accessible to disadvantaged women across the UK and in East Africa.
Freedom4Girls is a Leeds-based charity that campaigns to end stigma and taboos surrounding periods and menstruation.
They are appealing for new volunteers to help with everything from fundraising and campaigning and contributing to the charity in various ways.
Naoise Poku, education lead at Freedom4Girls, said: “We are a group of women who are passionate women and girls having access to the period products they need so that they can continue with their everyday activities and education. Just as important as the distribution of products is the reduction in stigma and shame that many women experience.
“We believe that all people regardless of their economic background should have the opportunity to learn about periods and normalise conversations about how they feel and how their periods impact them and their physical and emotional well-being.”
