Welcome to Quick Chats, East Side Story’s monthly chat with a local creative talent
This month Natalie Tharraleos chats with Temi Abiodun, musician and singer

What inspires you to create your art?
The art/music I create for me is my way of expression, to convey the various emotions I feel
Is there a medium you most enjoy using when you create?
I enjoy using the piano and sometimes my voice, and even more so both at the same time as they compliment each other
What makes the creative process fulfilling for you?
I get fulfilment from the music I create because I am able to impact those around me positively and spread positivity through my music
Is there anywhere people can go to get support creating music?
Yes- a place that really helped me is the Music House, through their Jam around the table events, where people can go to develop their talent
Any upcoming events you want to tell readers about, or links to your work
I recently made a booking website where I and other very talented musicians around Leeds can be booked:
Temmykeys.com
Your message to others who want to make a living from, celebrate or share their creativity:
Keep doing what you do, hone your craft and never compare yourself to others because you are unique in your own special way.

About The Music House:
“Jam Around The Table is about getting back to basics – good music, good company and a good chat around a table. It is a project for young people aged 14 – 19.
In a relaxed, safe and friendly environment, you will be able to express yourself and find harmony through artistic expression and conversation.” These events are usually free, pay as you can, or low cost

Support independent community journalism!
East Side Story covers the people, places and stories in Leeds that are too often overlooked. While national headlines chase conflict and clickbait, we focus on real communities and the issues shaping daily life in East Leeds.
Divisive content, AI noise and online rumours spread faster than ever. At the same time, many mainstream outlets are stretched and rarely spotlight the community organisations and local champions who deserve recognition.
East Side Story was created to change that. We answer only to our readers. We have no corporate owners or billionaire funders. Our journalists report freely, ask difficult questions and hold power to account.
Your support helps us keep this work going. Monthly contributions make the biggest impact because they allow us to invest in deeper reporting and fearless local journalism.
Supporters also receive exclusive updates, behind the scenes insights and other benefits as a thank you for keeping independent journalism alive.
