Council chiefs have awarded a contract of over £1 million to resolve heating problems at two Leeds flats – including one in Seacroft.

Clade Engineering Systems have been appointed to replace existing air source heat pumps and associated plant, controls and equipment at Queensview in Seacroft and Grayson Crest, in Burley.

The work will restore reliable heating for residents after the original contractor Cenergest Limited entered administration in July.

A council report approving the expenditure said: “The air source heat pumps at Queensview and Grayson Crest have experienced ongoing operational challenges, with residents reporting inconsistent heating performance, difficulties maintaining appropriate indoor temperatures during colder periods, and concerns regarding system reliability.

“Despite prior remedial actions by Cenergest Limited, these issues remain unresolved, resulting in continued discomfort for tenants.

“A recent evaluation identified the need for further remediation work to specialist equipment to ensure the systems function as intended.”

The report gave approval to spend £1,043,943.
