The picturesque village of Micklefield is set to burst into life next month as the highly anticipated Micklefield Open Gardens weekend will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June 2026.
The Micklefield open Gardens weekend is jointly organised as a community collaboration between St Mary’s Church and Micklefield in Bloom. The festival will transform the area into a paradise of colour, community spirit and horticulture excellence. Approximately eight secret, hidden private gardens will open their gates from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm each day, offering design inspiration and a rare look at the village’s finest plots.
Vibrant Churchyard Hub and Live Music
St Mary’s Church will serve as the central hub for the weekend’s festivities. The churchyard will host a variety of activities, plants sales, and dedicated refreshments stalls packed with home-baked treats.
The weekend features a stellar lineup of community events:
Saturday: A live musical performance by the Thinking Forward singing group will take place in the heart of the village.
Sunday: The weekend will draw to a spiritual close with a traditional Songs of Praise service.

Support independent community journalism!
East Side Story covers the people, places and stories in Leeds that are too often overlooked. While national headlines chase conflict and clickbait, we focus on real communities and the issues shaping daily life in East Leeds.
Divisive content, AI noise and online rumours spread faster than ever. At the same time, many mainstream outlets are stretched and rarely spotlight the community organisations and local champions who deserve recognition.
East Side Story was created to change that. We answer only to our readers. We have no corporate owners or billionaire funders. Our journalists report freely, ask difficult questions and hold power to account.
Your support helps us keep this work going. Monthly contributions make the biggest impact because they allow us to invest in deeper reporting and fearless local journalism.
