The Community Diagnostic Centre at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds is set to expand as part of a major national programme to improve access to tests and scans.
The expansion forms part of a £237 million investment aimed at increasing diagnostic capacity across England and reducing waiting times for patients.
The Seacroft centre is one of three community diagnostic sites in Leeds, providing services such as scans and medical tests outside of main hospital settings.
Health leaders say the aim is to make it easier and quicker for people to access essential checks closer to home, without needing to attend hospital for routine appointments.
The wider programme is intended to improve early diagnosis of illnesses and support faster treatment, while also easing pressure on hospital services.
Officials say further investment will also support new diagnostic centres elsewhere and upgrades to existing facilities across the country.
