Women Friendly Leeds has put a call out for recipes to feature in a new book.

Jonathan of East Side Story comments:

“If you can’t tell by our recently launched recipe corner (featuring Natalie’s fantastic sugar-free chocolate truffles), here at East Side Story, we love food. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what goes into this recipe book and trying it out – might even treat some of our fellow ESS volunteers at a future in-person meeting!

“Can’t wait to see what the women of Leeds put forward! And, to the women of East Leeds reading this, if you’ve got a favourite recipe you’d love to share with the world, see details below.”

Women Friendly Leeds is a council-funded team supporting women in the city and their allies.

Paulette is their Conversations Worker.

Here’s what she told East Side Story:

WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING ‘RECIPES FOR LIFE’

SUBMISSIONS

Our Women Friendly Leeds are looking for submissions of recipes for our ‘Recipes for Life’ book!

This could be a recipe for relaxation or a good night out; it
could be a recipe for a favourite family meal or a bath bomb. This is open for any woman to submit a recipe of their choice.

To submit a recipe, please send us a photo of yourself and a short bio of you, alongside your recipe and any photos or artwork.

Please send your submissions to Paulette by email: PauletteM@womenslivesleeds.org.uk

Support independent community journalism!

East Side Story covers the people, places and stories in Leeds that are too often overlooked. While national headlines chase conflict and clickbait, we focus on real communities and the issues shaping daily life in East Leeds.

Divisive content, AI noise and online rumours spread faster than ever. At the same time, many mainstream outlets are stretched and rarely spotlight the community organisations and local champions who deserve recognition.

East Side Story was created to change that. We answer only to our readers. We have no corporate owners or billionaire funders. Our journalists report freely, ask difficult questions and hold power to account.

Your support helps us keep this work going. Monthly contributions make the biggest impact because they allow us to invest in deeper reporting and fearless local journalism.

Supporters also receive exclusive updates, behind the scenes insights and other benefits as a thank you for keeping independent journalism alive.
