There’s free family fun to be had when fire engines old and new visit The Old Fire Station in Gipton at the weekend.

The event runs between 11am-4pm on Saturday, 15 June. Games, activities, a cafe and stalls will also be on hand.

Gipton Fire Station opened in 1937 and closed its doors for service in 2015, having played a very significant role in the local community for 75 years.

The station has been renovated into a multi-purpose community hub called the Old Fire Station, providing a base for six local charities, along with rooms available to hire, a cookery school and a café for all of the community to enjoy.

The Old Fire Station is:

  • A space where local people can come to socialise, access support and simply relax and have fun. An opportunity for children and young people, adults and older people to maximise their potential, improve their well being and quality of life under one roof.
  • A venue where a wide range of different and complimentary not for profit tenant organisations can come together and provide services, support, advice and information.

Over 40 volunteers work from within the building.
