Families in East Leeds are being invited to join a lively Easter Egg Hunt Adventure at Leeds East Academy on Saturday 18 April, running from 10am to 12pm.

The free community event promises a cheerful morning of exploring, playing and discovering surprises along the way. Children will be greeted at the academy by the Easter Bunny, who will set them off on a special mission around the site.

The trail, called Your Easter Quest, guides families between different locations using a themed map. At each stop, children will uncover a hidden letter and take part in simple activities designed to keep the area looking bright and welcoming. A bit of litter picking is included as part of the quest, encouraging young helpers to take pride in their surroundings.

Every child who completes the trail will receive a free Easter egg.

The event is supported by The Wombles, SCOT and the LS14 Trust, along with partners Chapel FM and Wates, who have worked together to offer a relaxed and family friendly morning for the local community.

Organisers say the hunt is designed to get families outdoors, spark some Easter excitement and celebrate the area with a fun, hands-on activity that everyone can enjoy.

East Side Story covers the people, places and stories in Leeds that are too often overlooked. While national headlines chase conflict and clickbait, we focus on real communities and the issues shaping daily life in East Leeds.

Divisive content, AI noise and online rumours spread faster than ever. At the same time, many mainstream outlets are stretched and rarely spotlight the community organisations and local champions who deserve recognition.

East Side Story was created to change that. We answer only to our readers. We have no corporate owners or billionaire funders. Our journalists report freely, ask difficult questions and hold power to account.

Your support helps us keep this work going. Monthly contributions make the biggest impact because they allow us to invest in deeper reporting and fearless local journalism.

Supporters also receive exclusive updates, behind the scenes insights and other benefits as a thank you for keeping independent journalism alive.
