Could you be a befriender to support people in need in East Leeds?
Leeds Mind Befriending is a social support service in Leeds for individuals over the age of 50 who are experiencing mental ill health, loneliness and isolation.
Its befriending worker and volunteers will be providing six months of one to one support to clients in the community, in their homes, online or via telephone.
It will also be providing befriending group activities and social meets, for both volunteers and clients, to help meet the high demand of the service and decrease lengthy waiting lists.
Leeds Mind Befriending is currently recruiting befriending volunteers – more information on the role and how to apply can be found on the website – https://buff.ly/4dllph6.
The service isn’t currently open for referrals, however, we are hoping to be accepting these from June 2024.
