St Saviour’s Richmond Hill have held their second All Souls’ Requiem memorial recently, helping local families find space to grieve.

The service saw the Revd Canon Paul Cartwright, area dean of Pontefract, preaching.

The Revd Jonathan Fleury, Priest in Charge at the church, said: “St Saviour’s is a growing church in East Leeds, and over the past two years we have welcomed new people, from international university students to long term Leeds residents.

“We have been exploring new ways to reach out and engage with the local community.

“The requiem, which is in its second year, was in response to a need to provide space for grieving families, and those who, in a time of direct cremations, have not have funeral rites celebrated.

“Memorial candles have been sponsored in memory of departed friends and family and continued to burn in church at services throughout the month of November.”
