Janine GriffithsPeople in East Leeds are being encouraged to have their say on a series of public notices, including a temporary road closure in Chapeltown and new licensing applications elsewhere in Leeds.
A temporary road closure is in place on St Martins View, between Chapeltown Road and Back Chapeltown Road, while essential gas mains replacement work is carried out.
The order took effect on July 22 and is expected to remain in place until August 4, although it could stay in force for up to 18 months if required.
Access for emergency vehicles and nearby properties will be maintained throughout the works. A signed diversion route is in place via Chapeltown Road, St Martins Road, St Martins Avenue and St Martins Gardens.
Elsewhere, Leeds United Football Club Limited has applied for a new premises licence covering a marquee in the North Car Park at Elland Road Stadium, Beeston.
The application seeks permission for regulated entertainment, including films, indoor sports, music and dance, as well as late night refreshment and the sale of alcohol.
If approved, those activities could take place from 9am until 2am every day. The proposed opening hours for the venue would be from 9am until 3am, Monday to Sunday.
People wishing to comment on the application have until August 4 to submit representations to Leeds City Council.
Another application has been submitted by Pho Trading Limited to vary the premises licence for its restaurant at Leeds Trinity shopping centre.
The proposal includes changes to the venue’s layout, permission for late night refreshment until midnight each day, and amendments to several existing licence conditions covering security, staff training and operational procedures.
Representations on that application must be submitted to Leeds City Council by August 5.
The latest public notices also include a temporary closure of Cliff Road in Woodhouse, between Woodhouse Street and Woodhouse Lane, to allow cycle lane works. Diversions are in place, while access for emergency vehicles and nearby properties will continue.
Members of the public can comment on or object to the licensing applications before the published deadlines.
