A £580,000 contract has been awarded to improve play facilities at Temple Newsam, a council report has revealed.
A learn-to-ride cycling area is part of the upgrade plans for Temple Newsam Golf Course.
It is hoped the scheme, which includes a new playground and landscaping works, will increase income for Leeds City Council and is part of a wider plans for a new cafe in the golf clubhouse, along with new cycling paths.
A £587,000 contract has been awarded to Horticon Ltd, starting in September. Work will last six months.
A council report said: “The new recreational facilities will have the impact of increasing the visitor offer at the Temple Newsam estate, particular around the golf club area, and contribute towards generating additional revenue for the council.”
Leeds City Council said the scheme would provide new opportunities for outdoor exercise.
Planning permission was granted earlier this year.
