ETAS – the Refugee Education Training Advice Service – is holding an exhibition celebrating the diverse community of Harehills, it’s been announced.
The exhibition will be held across two Leeds venues during Refugee Week, which runs from June 17-23 2024.
An ETAS spokesperson said: “This year’s Refugee Week theme is ‘our home’ and this exhibition will focus on celebrating the thriving community within Harehills, reflecting the positive impact and legacy of those who have sought sanctuary in our communities – the place they call home.
“This effective photo exhibition features those who make Harehills the thriving community that it is, combined with quotes that celebrate the district and dispel any misconceptions and negative connotations about the place.”
ETAS is running the exhibition during Refugee Week to ‘focus on the positive impact and legacy that those who have sought sanctuary in our communities have contributed, and what home means for them’.
The exhibition will run at 92 Degrees Coffee in Boar Lane and Archive a 94 Kirkstall Road, with more details to follow on times.
