JohnTaylor Wimpey Yorkshire has donated £250 to help young musicians across East Leeds continue their love of playing brass instruments.
The housebuilder decided to support Garforth Brass as it is based at Garforth Methodist Church, close to its Morwick Springs development, in Leeds Road.
First established more than 20 years ago, Garforth Bass has been entertaining audiences at concerts and events across the region. The group takes pride in mentoring its players, with the opportunity to compete in regional and national competitions through the contesting band, while the training band offers tuition to players of all backgrounds and abilities.
Janet Lymath, Treasurer at Garforth Brass, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this donation from Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire. At Garforth Brass, we predominantly rely on donations from our supporters to ensure that our players can continue to perform and compete. With running costs higher than ever, we are extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their support.”

Morwick Springs is a collection of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes. The development is completely gas free, with all homes benefitting from air source heat pumps.
