Residents are being invited to take part in a major new tree-planting project in Roundhay, organised by the Roundhay Environmental Action Project (REAP).

The group is aiming to plant 3,000 trees as part of a new hedgerow and orchard planting scheme. Two hedgerow planting sessions are planned for Sunday 25 January 2026 and Sunday 1 February 2026, both starting at 11.30am. An additional orchard planting session will take place at 1pm on Saturday 28 February 2026.

All sessions will meet at the corner of the allotment hedgerow on Old Park Road, Soldier’s Field. Volunteers are asked to bring a spade, sturdy footwear and gloves. The events are open to all volunteers.

The planting will take place in Roundhay and forms part of REAP’s ongoing environmental work in the area. REAP, the Roundhay Environmental Action Project, is a local group working to improve the environment in and around Roundhay.

Further information about the project and REAP’s work can be found at reap-leeds.org.uk.
