The Fly Line pub is now open, boasting an investment of over £313,000, which has transformed the well-loved community pub to feature a host of exciting upgrades.
Introducing its innovative “Two Door Pub” concept, the Fly Line now offers a sports bar area and a separate family lounge, creating two distinct spaces: a lively bar for the locals and a cosy, family-friendly lounge. Designed to cater to all occasions, the Fly Line brings the community together, offering guests the flexibility to enjoy their ideal experience with no compromises.
The community hero chosen to pull the first pint to mark the opening of the pub was Mark Dobson. Mark was selected in recognition of his long-standing service as a Garforth councillor and for the key role he played in helping bring the Fly Line to the area back in 2018.

The newly updated bar area features large HD screens to keep guests entertained with all the latest sports action. The space also includes a dedicated darts area and pool table, so guests can challenge friends, enjoy some friendly competition, and soak up the lively atmosphere.
The Fly Line is a dog-friendly locals’ pub with a community feel. Locals can now drop by for a pint and a bite to eat, celebrating unmissable moments in the heart of the community. The pub continues to serve its much-loved favourites alongside a special festive set menu, featuring Christmas classics such as traditional roast turkey and indulgent desserts like dark chocolate mint tart. With gluten-free and vegan options available, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The Fly Line will host a variety of events over the festive period for all the family to enjoy, including events perfect for kids and fun nights for adults.

General Manager of the Fly Line, Anthony Fox, said, “We’re so excited to be back open and show off the fantastic new look. We’ve worked hard to make The Fly Line a space for everyone – whether you’re catching the game with friends, enjoying a family lunch, or just popping in for a pint. The new Sky Sports package, refreshed interiors, and outdoor seating make it a perfect spot year-round.”
With over 1,300 pubs and bars across England, Scotland, and Wales, Marston’s locations range from traditional local and family-friendly pubs to venues designed for a warm, timeless country pub atmosphere offering shared good times for everyone.

East Side Story covers the people, places and stories in Leeds that are too often overlooked. While national headlines chase conflict and clickbait, we focus on real communities and the issues shaping daily life in East Leeds.
Divisive content, AI noise and online rumours spread faster than ever. At the same time, many mainstream outlets are stretched and rarely spotlight the community organisations and local champions who deserve recognition.
East Side Story was created to change that. We answer only to our readers. We have no corporate owners or billionaire funders. Our journalists report freely, ask difficult questions and hold power to account.
